This is part of our series chronicling our journey through the United States. If you have a National Parks pass this park is FREE to enjoy!
Badlands is so much more than a drive thru park. Get out and explore!
There is a very nice Visitor’s Center including a fossil lab. This park has easy access from the interstate making it very easy to get in, get out, and keep going down the road, but if you can, schedule a bit more time to explore. We noticed that the Visitor’s Center and the educational boardwalks stay fairly busy during the summer, but the trails and various pull offs can get you away from the crowds with very little effort. So pack some water and go for a walk. I think you’ll be surprised at the beauty this ominously named park contains.
Hi! I’m Laurie, the witch in this kitchen. I’ve known since I was a child that there was something different, something distinctly witchy about me. I can still remember the first backyard potion that I concocted from berries, acorns, and a bit of flower for my bird and squirrel friends. I’m still stirring potions, but they’re more often for my children now. The best part about kitchen witchery is never having to choose between meals, medicine, and magick. They’re one and the same for me. I hope they will be for you too.
