Oh man. Okay. So I haven’t had a What’s in the Box post for quite a while, but I can explain. We were buying a lot of just to try items. Seriously out of the ordinary supplement and medical items. It’s a story. And one I’ll tell another day when I get past the emotions and can write it all out.
This month’s box isn’t about healing or emotions or illness or anything heavy. This month is fun. So even though I just opened the box…I’m ready to share it! You can find out more about any of these products by clicking any of the pictures or highlighted links.
Please remember that I am a Young Living Distributor and all of the links contained in this post will direct you to my oils website, Witchy Gypsy Oils, where you can find the items available for purchase at retail price. If you are interested in purchasing them at a reduced, wholesale price, please check out the membership information. Also, none of the statements in the post have been approved by the FDA and are not intended to diagnose, cure, or treat any specific illness.
As you guys know, we’ve been going through some changes lately. Our diet has become super plant focused. We’ve finished switching up our dental routine. And since we’re stranded for a bit here on the West Coast, I went back to work.
I know. It was a lot for us to take in all at once too.
Actually, just the being stranded and going back to work thing. The rest of it was pretty easy.
So let’s start there.
The going back to work bit. First, I needed some quick meals on the run. Veggies in the cast iron skillet are my new favorite thing to eat. Especially some garlic, asparagus, and mushrooms. Swoon! Unfortunately, it’s not that easy to whip up in the breakroom or eat in the truck while I’m driving. Meet my easy solution:
Okay, so first, you have to learn the trick to these shakes. Maybe all shakes. I don’t know. I’m new to the shake life.
The trick to making a smooth shake is to just add enough liquid (I’ve been using almond milk) to get the powder wet. When you whisk it together you should get a thick paste.
Then dribble in a teensy bit more and whisk…until you have pancake batter. By this time you can add the rest of your liquid in and whisk until combined. It will be perfectly smooth.
Next I needed to start acting like an adult and wearing makeup. This in itself isn’t a bad or difficult thing. I like playing with makeup, but holy cow have you seen how expensive makeup remover towelettes are?! I have sensitive skin so going low end on anything touching my face is not an option. I already had some organic baby wipes that I used to “spot shower” (I know y’all read the shower surprise post) so I tried those. I figured if it’s good enough for personal parts, it’s gotta be good enough for your face, right? Wrong. They left my face feeling dry and linty. It was time to try something new.
Seedlings Baby Wipes
So here’s the thing about my makeup. I wear waterproof mascara. Really good waterproof mascara. Momma might ugly cry every now and again, but nobody needs to know.
These took it off. Oh yeah. Full makeup removal. And it left my skin feeling so soft!
The best part? It only took half a wipe to do it. That means, if I cut them in half, I don’t have 72 wipes. I have 144 wipes.
If you’re keeping score…that makes these a whole lot less expensive than the drugstore towelettes.
Let’s talk about all those Thieves labels next!
Thieves Fruit & Veggie Soak
I know y’all know all the jokes about cake being safer than romaine lettuce because of all the safety recalls. Life shouldn’t be that way! We’ve been washing our produce with a variety of oils, but I wanted something that the kids could just grab and do on their own. This is a concentrated blend of ingredients that I can pronounce with a well respected history of being able to cleanse the oogies away. It also doesn’t affect the taste of the vegetables at all which was almost as important as its cleaning ability. Take that, Romaine Lettuce!
Thieves Foaming Hand Soap Refill
I still have my original two pump bottles. I can’t even begin to describe how awesome this stuff smells. Orange, lemon, cinnamon, clove. It makes me think of a Victorian Christmas. This stuff foams well, softens your hands, and kills all the germs. What more can you ask for?
What about those little brown bottles?
We keep Citrus Fresh and Thieves on hand at all times for a variety of reasons. If you don’t know the legend behind Thieves Oil, it’s basically that there were these thieves back during the plague that survived using a variety of herbs to protect themselves from the plague germs. This oil is based off of that recipe. If I started listing everything we used it for, it would be its own blog post. Aside from all of the other reasons that we keep it on hand, I always have a bottle of Citrus Fresh and a bottle of Thieves specifically for laundry and that’s what this pair was ordered for.
The other oils were my freebies this month. The freebies also contained a bottle of Ylang Ylang Essential Oil, but that was out of stock so it will be shipped to me as soon as it gets back in stock.
“With a rich history and unique aromatic profile, Patchouli is perfect for the free spirit. Use its calming, relaxing aroma during meditation or yoga practice or apply topically to improve the appearance of skin.”
“Cedarwood essential oil’s woodsy, warm, balsamic aroma creates a relaxing, calming, and comforting atmosphere when diffused to help support a relaxing nighttime routine. The cleansing and moisturizing properties associated with Cedarwood also make it a great addition to your favorite skin care products. When applied topically, it can help maintain the appearance of healthy, youthful skin. You can also massage Cedarwood oil into your scalp to enhance the appearance of healthy-looking hair.”
“Ylang Ylang essential oil has a sweet, romantic aroma and moisturizing properties, making it a key ingredient in many luxury skin and hair products.”
You’ll notice I didn’t talk about Loyalty Essential Oil. That’s because you can’t buy it. At certain times Young Living chooses to create blends just for its members. Loyalty is one of them. To find out just how good something like Loyalty smells…well, you have to become a member. You can get more information about that HERE.
