The Congestion Killer Kit gives you everything you need (except the olive oil) to make Congestion Killer at home. The kit will make approximately 5 ounces of finished product and contains one 2oz tin for making a portion of your finished product portable. This ointment goes on smooth and absorbs quickly.

Congestion kicking your butt?  Sniffles keeping sleep at bay?  I used to reach for the little blue jar of mentholated goodness from my childhood but then I made the mistake one night of reading the ingredient label.  Let’s just agree to never speak of it again, okay?  It was bad.  I decided right then and there that I needed a better solution for my own kids.  I wanted something that wouldn’t just bring temporary relief but would actually help fight against the illnesses infecting my child.  I tried several recipes but none of them could match the relief that that little blue jar could bring…until I mixed this little baby up.

Rub it on the feet of the littlest ones.  Rub it on the chests and backs of the other kids.  Take turns with your spouse rubbing your own chests and backs.  Have a party.  You’ve gotta do whatever you’ve gotta do to keep those spirits up and maintain respiratory system welfare.

Speaking of doing what needs to be done in desperate times, I wouldn’t put it on my babies’ faces.  But I have been known to slide a drop under my own nose if it’s really bad.  All in the name of science, you understand.  Breathe in the aroma of relief.

Let’s look at the ingredients:
Eucalyptus – (antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, anticatarrhal, mildly antispasmodic, and expectorant) Those are a lot of medical actions that basically open up your respiratory system, calm it down, and get the oogies OUT.

Peppermint – (analgesic, antibacterial, antiviral, antispasmodic, calmative, and rubefacient) The inclusion of this ingredient continues the anti-oogie action while increasing blood flow to the area.

Lavender – (analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antimicrobial, and calmative) The Swiss Army Knife of herbs. This inclusion continues both the calming and the anti-oogie action while also balancing out some of the hot/cold sensation of the previous two ingredients.

Essential Oils* and Vitamin E* – (Thyme, Peppermint, Eucalyptus) Essential oils are the concentrated volatile oils of plants. The inclusion of these oils intensifies not only the symptom relieving sensations of these plants but their healing properties as well. Vitamin E has skin nourishing properties and prolongs the shelf life of your ointment.

Beeswax* – Mixed with olive oil, this is a natural replacement for the petrolatum of our childhoods. It absorbs into the skin quickly without any sticky residue.
